Insight is useless until it moves
By now you’ve gathered real self-knowledge. The trap at this stage is to keep reflecting forever, waiting to feel certain. Certainty rarely comes from thinking — it comes from doing small experiments and watching what happens.
A purpose experiment is a small, low-risk action that tests a hunch. Curious whether you’re drawn to teaching? Don’t quit your job — offer to mentor one person. The experiment gives you data that reflection never could.
Design your first one
- Pick one pattern that surfaced in the exercises.
- Design the smallest possible action to test it this month.
- Decide in advance what you’ll pay attention to: energy, ease, meaning.
You’re not committing to anything. You’re gathering evidence about how you’re built. A few experiments teach you more about your purpose than a year of overthinking.
