Two very different skills
Almost everyone can name a goal. Far fewer can finish one. That gap is not about motivation or discipline — it is about treating goal setting and goal achieving as two separate skills that need two separate systems.
Setting a goal is a moment of clarity. Achieving it is a string of ordinary days where the goal competes with everything else in your life. This course is built almost entirely around the second skill, because that is where people get stuck.
What this lesson sets up
- The goal you keep restarting is usually a design problem, not a willpower problem.
- A 90-day window is long enough to make real progress and short enough to stay urgent.
- Your job in Module 1 is to choose a goal worth 90 days of your attention.
Before you pick anything, ask one question: if I achieved this in 90 days, would my life be meaningfully different? If the honest answer is “not really,” keep looking. A goal has to earn the real estate it takes up in your week.
