Your body clock can be reset — gradually

If you’ve been a night owl for years, your body clock is set to a late rhythm. The good news is it’s adjustable; the catch is it has to be done gradually and consistently, not forced overnight.

Reset it the right way

  • Shift bedtime and wake time earlier by 15–20 minutes every few days.
  • Keep a consistent wake time — even weekends — as your anchor.
  • Get bright light immediately on waking to signal “day has started.”
  • Avoid bright light and screens late, which push the clock later again.

Consistency is everything here. An anchored wake time does more to stabilize your rhythm than almost anything else, because it sets the timing for the whole 24-hour cycle. Expect it to take a few weeks — your body clock moves slowly, but it does move. Patience and consistency win.
