The gentlest path to better eating

Most nutrition advice starts with subtraction — cut this, eliminate that. It triggers deprivation and resistance. A kinder, more effective approach starts with addition: add good things, and they naturally crowd out the rest.

Add first

  • Add a vegetable or fruit to a meal you already eat.
  • Add protein to breakfast to steady energy and reduce later cravings.
  • Add a glass of water before coffee or meals.

When you fill up on nourishing foods, there’s naturally less room and less craving for the rest — no forbidding required. This works because it doesn’t feel like a loss, so there’s nothing to rebel against. Build a balanced plate by what you include, not by counting or cutting. Subtraction, when it happens, happens on its own.
